Alex Lipovski

An advocate of contemporary music, Alex Lipowski is the Executive Director of the Talea Ensemble. He has also performed in ensembles such as the Argento Ensemble, Second Instrumental Unit, Aspen Contemporary Ensemble, Wet Ink Ensemble, and is the newest member of the Timetable Percussion Trio. He has appeared on concert platforms through North America, South America, Europe and Asia. As a soloist and as a chamber musician he has collaborated with composers including Pierre Boulez, Helmut Lachenmann, Iancu Dumitresco and John Zorn. In recent years he toured with Pierre Boulez in Europe and Japan, performing Boulez's work, Sur Incises. Since 2007 he has served as Artist-Faculty at the Great Mountains Music Festival in South Korea. Lipowski holds Bachelors and Masters degrees of music from the Juilliard School of Music. He has recorded on Gravina Musica, Naxos and the Living Artists labels.
