
Daniel Cohen
conductor
Music Director of the Eden Sinfonia in London, Daniel Cohen made his debut with the group at the Queen Elizabeth Hall, London. He is Chief Conductor of the Jersey Chamber Orchestra, Artistic Director of the Gropius Ensemble and Associate Conductor of the Israel Chamber Orchestra. After graduating from the Royal Academy of Music, London, Daniel Cohen won prizes at the Admont International Conducting Competition, the Aviv Competition and most recently third prize at the Evgeny Svetlanov International Conducting Competition. He has acted as Assistant Conductor of the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra under Daniel Barenboim, and will assist him conducting Pierre Boulez's work Derive II. Daniel Cohen has conducted the Israel Philharmonic, Kammerphilharmonie Graz, Orchestre National de Montpellier, Kiev Symphony and Jerusalem Symphony orchestras, and recently conducted Tchaikovsky's Pique Dame at the New Israel Opera. He was supported in his studies by scholarships from the America-Israel Cultural Foundation.
