
Omer Wellber

Born in 1981, Omer Meir Wellber is emerging as one of Israel's most talented young conductors. He is resident conductor in the Israeli Opera and the Ra’anana Symphonette Orchestra, and was also recently appointed Music Director of Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia in Valencia for 2011-2014. His repertoire at the Israeli Opera includes La Traviata, La Forza del Destino, Turandot, L'elisir d'amore, Cosi fan tutte, Mefistofele and The Cunning Little Vixen, and Carmen at the Berlin Staatsoper. Future engagements include Daphne (Sempreoper in Dresden), Salome at Saito Kinen Festival in Matsumoto, new productions of Rigoletto, Traviata and Trovatore at the Wien-Festwochen, Tosca and Werther (La Scala), Aida, Eugene Onegin and L’elisir d’amore (Valencia), Tosca (Berlin Staatsoper and Palermo) and La traviata (Tel Aviv), as well as symphonic concerts with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestra de Paris, Orchestra di Santa Cecilia and Filarmonica della Scala.
