Yigal Kaminka

Yigal Kaminka was born in Israel in 1893. He studied oboe and recorder at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance, graduating in 2006. He went on to obtain further degrees at the University of Karlsruhe, Germany, where he is currently a member of the solo recorder class. In 2009 he won first prize for oboe (all three categories) at the Aviv Competition. He has performed as a soloist in Germany both with recorder and oboe and has played with the West-Eastern Divan orchestra, conducted by Daniel Barenboim, and other orchestras including the Budapest Festival Orchestra, the Heidelberger Sinfoniker and the Phiharmonie der Nationen.
