
Denis Kozhukhin
piano
Born in 1986 in Russia to a family of musicians, Denis Kozhukhin studied at the Balakirev School of Music (Novgorod), graduating with honours at the age of 14. He continued under Dimitri Bashkirov at the Queen Sofia School of Music in Madrid, receiving awards for best student and best chamber music group. He has performed at festivals including Lugano, Verbier, Saharov (Novgorod), Paloma O'Shea (Santander), Ruhr Klavier (Germany), Louvre Auditorium Series (Paris) and Prestige Series (New York). He won First Prize at the Queen Elizabeth Competition 2010 (Belgium), the Vendȏme (Lisbon 2009), Leeds (2006) and Alicia de Larrocha competitions. Denis has performed with the Halle, Gulbenkian and Hungarian National Philharmonic orchestras and has given solo recitals and chamber music concerts throughout Europe. He is currently studying at the International Piano Academy, Lake Como (Italy), and continuing chamber music studies in Madrid with his group, the Cervantes Trio.
